On July 1, the Longbrake Wellness Center began operating under a new partnership with Bloomington Medical Services (BMS), a physician practice affiliated with the Wooster Community Hospital (WCH). President Anne McCall announced the change in a June 16 email sent to returning students, staff and faculty.
“The agreement with BMS will enhance the health and wellness services available to you now by connecting on-campus care to the expertise, specialty services, and resources of a health system recognized nationally for excellence in patient care and safety,” McCall said.
Wellness Center employees were informed that their final day of employment would be June 30. In her email, McCall said that WCH and BMS would provide support to former Wellness Center staff by reaching out about prospects for employment within the health system.
Three providers are available to students in the Wellness Center: Casey Hudak, Physician Assistant-Certified; Dawn Cory, Licensed Professional Counselor; and Ryan Murphy, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Training Supervision Designation. Per the WCH website, services offered by the Wellness Center include primary and preventive care, counseling, psychiatry and women’s health care.
The Wellness Center’s new hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
