On July 20, the Office of Marketing and Communications launched its redesign of wooster.edu, the College’s main website. In an email to students, faculty and staff, Alexa Konstantinos, vice president of marketing, communications & events, and Brendan Bittner, director of digital marketing, announced the launch and shared their intentions for the website.
“While we aimed for perfection at launch, we will continue building, refining and evolving the site,” Konstantinos and Bittner wrote.
One of the main navigational changes to the site is in its page layout. Each page’s subsections can be accessed by scrolling upward or downward, which is a shift from the previous design’s delegation of sub-topics into separate tabs. Konstantinos wrote that this new feature was intended to mirror the user interfaces of social media apps that many students are familiar with. She also shared that the website’s search engine optimization tools have been updated to be more compatible with AI-generated search results.
The new design also features “hub” pages that provide students, staff and faculty with links to frequented campus resources like Self Service and Moodle.
Konstantinos and Bittner shared a link to the office’s Marketing request online form, through which users can send feedback and corrections on the website.
