The College of Wooster has been identified by the Princeton Review as one of 200 “Colleges that Pay You Back” in their recent book with the same name intended for people searching for colleges.

According to the Princeton Review’s website, the institutions included in its book all feature “stellar academics, affordable cost — either via a comparatively low sticker price or generous financial aid (or both)!,” and “strong career projects for graduates.” The data was collected between fall 2016 and fall 2017 using “institutional and student surveys” in combination with data from Payscale, Inc. on “alumni career and salary statistics.”

Eight benchmarks were used to review the colleges on the list, each of which were scored out of 99: On Admissions Selectivity, The College of Wooster scored 88/99: Interesting and Accessible Professors, 96 and 98; Financial Aid, 89; Quality of Life, 92; Fire Safety, 86; Green, 79; and Return on Investment (ROI), 88/99.

Other big-name colleges on the full list, which is available for free on the Princeton Review’s website, include Case Western Reserve University, Princeton University, Kenyon College, Massachusetts Institution of Technology, Oberlin College, Northwestern University, The Ohio State University’s Columbus campus, Virginia Tech and Yale University.

Wooster also received high marks relative to other colleges analyzed by the Princeton Review, placing eighth in rankings on “colleges where students study the most,” ninth on “best schools for internships” and “lots of race/class interaction” and tenth on its list of colleges with the most accessible professors.”
