The Fighting Scots softball team finished its regular season with two wins in a doubleheader against Oberlin College. These wins brought the Scots to 17-21 on the season and 8-8 in conference.
The first game of the afternoon was a 9-4 win for the Scots. Nine different players scored for Wooster, while six different players drove in runs.
Pitcher Maddy Chase ’18 struck out six batters and had two hits in two at bats, while second baseman Marissa Gorvet ’16 paced her with two hits in two at bats.
Defensively, first baseman Jenna Kendall ’17 had seven put outs, while catcher Kasey Fiedler ’16 was credited with eight.
Chase gave up 12 hits and walked one runner in seven innings, giving up three earned runs.
In the second game, Wooster triumphed 8-6, as outfielder Taylor Raybuck ’16, third baseman Stephanie Little ’17 and Fiedler had two hits apiece and three hits from Chelsea Copley ’19. Copley also had two homeruns.
In the second game, Kendall pitched for seven innings, striking out seven while giving up 10 hits and six runs (five earned) while walking two.
Defensively, Fiedler was credited with seven put outs.
