Scot Council Chief of Staff and President-Elect Flynn Cowie ’26 shared information on the organization’s upcoming general election. Applications to run are due today (April 11) at the end of the day. The campaign period is April 13 to 15, with elections held the following days from April 15 to 17. Students can expect an online ballot in their inboxes from Scot Council during this time period. Scot Council is seeking a number of positions to be filled, including the following:

  • Class of 2026 representative (3)
  • Class of 2027 representative (3)
  • Class of 2028 representative (3)
  • Racial and ethnic diversity representative (2)
  • International diversity representative (2)
  • Gender and sexual diversity representative (2)
  • First generation/limited income representative (2)
  • Accessibility representative (2)
  • Religious and spiritual diversity representative (2)

Chelsea Polly, civil rights and title IX coordinator, shared the April campus climate notification, which included incident reports from February and March. The report included the following incident information:

  • Alcohol incidents – four reports
  • Bias – seven reports
  • Drug incidents – 13 reports
  • Sexual assault – two reports
  • Sexual harassment – one report

Director of Residence Life John Reynolds shared closing information with the campus community on April 8, including maintenance requests, a move-out checklist, checkout sign up, summer storage and summer housing.

  • Students have until Monday, April 14 to make maintenance or service requests that need to be addressed in their room or residence. This includes any appliance issues or broken materials. Maintenance requests do not exempt students from being charged for damage or vandalism.
  • Students should complete checkout sign up with their RAs. Room Condition Reports, which students had the chance to review in the fall during the move-in process. Before checking out with their RA or a member of residence life, students should follow the following move-out checklist:
    • Remove trash or recyclables
    • Wipe down recycling bin
    • De-loft beds
    • Clean out refrigerator
  • Summer storage is also available through Celina Moving & Storage. Sign-ups to participate are due on May 5.
  • CoWabunga, the annual clothing and goods drive, will begin on April 28. These items are donated to the local Goodwill.
  • Summer housing applications are due on Friday, May 2.
  • Late stay requests are due on Tuesday, May 6.
