Scot Council held their weekly general assembly on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. in Lowry 202. The opening discussion pertained to the Student Protest and Demonstration Guidelines –– students, faculty and staff were present at the meeting.

Some concerns brought forward included threats to freedom of speech and the current lack of communication about the guidelines in general. Mareike Herrmann, current president of Wooster’s chapter of the American Association of University Professors, stated that the faculty had voted not to implement the policy.

The budget committee looked at a budget request for the Equestrian Club. The funding was unanimously approved in a vote during the executive session.

Britz Ruiz ’27 will serve as the new Social Justice and Equity Chair.

A courteous correction: a prior version of this article stated that President Anne McCall had had declined to implement the results of the vote. This statement is false and not accurate to the proceedings of the faculty meeting. We apologize for this error and will do our best to ensure that errors like these do not happen again.
