Scot Council met for their weekly general assembly on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. in Lowry 202. These meetings are open to the public.
During the opening discussion, Scot Council members discussed the guidelines for student demonstration with a group of students in attendance who wanted clarification on the guidelines.
Scot Council plans to review the drafted guidelines with Dean of Students and Scot Council advisor Ashley Reid and have these conversations marketed as open to the student body and invited faculty.
The budget committee is working through the equestrian club budget.
The constitution committee is in the process of completing a review of Echo Choom’s budget. After completion, the committee will focus on the Queer Student Union and Multicultural Student Union’s constitutions.
With Pras Subedi’s ’27 departure as the social justice and equity chair, Scot Council plans to discuss the selection of a new chair of the committee.
Scot Council reached out to The Wooster Voice to create a Scot Council-Voice liaison position, which would include regular attendance at Scot Council general assemblies.
The group also discussed the possibility of moving the general assembly meeting to another location. Possible locations include the Alley, the basement of the library and Lean Lecture Hall.
The gender and sexuality diversity constituents are planning to look at Subedi’s viewpoint from last week’s issue of the Voice — which announced their resignation from Scot Council — and take their suggestions into account.
The international diversity constituency is working with Campus Dining Director Marjorie Shamp to collect international recipes.
