Director of Residence Life John Reynolds sent a reminder to students about fall break health and safety inspections that will occur from Oct. 4 at 9 a.m. to Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. The inspections will take five to 15 minutes depending on the size of the space. Staff will knock and announce themselves prior to entering the room. Residence life staff members, both RAs and full-time staff, will review the spaces and complete an inspection form. Students should plan to remove perishable food, empty trash and recycling, clean and unplug appliances except for refrigerators and fish tanks, lock windows and pull blinds and lock room and suite doors. Students who are staying on campus over fall break do not have to sign up to stay, but should expect for RAs to enter their room to complete the inspection.

Reynolds also shared updated information about the housing selection process for the 2025-2026 academic year. The housing selection process has been expanded into the fall semester, with the housing agreement set to open on Nov. 1. Program and service house selection will run from Nov. 15 to Dec. 16. All other housing processes will take place in the spring.

Secretary of The College and Director of Administration Angila Tracey shared Wooster’s annual Security and Fire Safety Report for 2023. The 96 page document overviews the campus safety policies and both the fire safety report and crime report, with the goals of informing both the current and prospective campus community of the College’s emergency preparedness and planning.
