Scot Council had its weekly open assembly meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Sept. 16 in Lowry 202. 

During the meeting’s opening discussion, the office of residence life’s new lock-out policy, as well as potential issues of the policy and possible changes to it were discussed with Dean of Student Affairs Ashley Reid. The possibility of delaying the start date of the policy was discussed, which is currently set for Oct. 1. 

The constitution committee is voting on Word Up!’s constitution next week. The outreach committee plans to post more information about committees and how Scot Council operates on Scot Council’s social media.

The executive committee discussed voting for the upcoming election, which began on Wednesday, Sept. 17 and ends on Friday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. Scot Council is tabling on Thursday, Sept. 18 at lunch and dinner to increase awareness and encourage voting.

The Strategic Planning & Priorities Advisory Committee is also searching for two student observers and leadership instated for possible changes in student participation. 

The gender and sexuality diversity constituency shared that they are in conversation with the Queer and Trans People of Color club about LGBTQ+ issues.
