Scot Council met for their general assembly meeting on April 8 at 7 p.m. in Lowry Student Center.

General elections for Scot Council are wrapping up and will close this afternoon, April 12, by 5 p.m. Applicants can submit an application for a position on Scot Council by emailing an application to the Scot Council email.

The social justice and equity committee is working on responses from Cookies for Concerns. The liaison committee will meet with Scot Council’s advisor, Dean Ashley Reid, to discuss the presence of Title IX education in new student orientation for this upcoming fall.

The Douglass Hall Renovation Ad Hoc Committee reported back on their visit to Douglass Hall, which is in full renovation swing — as apparent by the signage lining the construction site. Members of the committee reported that the roof and attic are “set up,” and that the final order of business before complete remodeling is the walls. The committee will meet with John Reynolds, director of residence life, next week.

The gender and sexuality diversity constituents shared that the campus community would be celebrating pride month in April and that the Office of Sexuality and Gender Inclusion is hosting events throughout the month. The Queer and Trans People of Color organization will be hosting Queer Prom on April 21.

The first generation and limited income constituents are tabling with Multicultural Student Affairs to collect anonymous responses for input on events.

Scot Council meets on Monday every week in Lowry 202 at 7 p.m. These meetings are open to the campus community.
