Aki, Shot using a Leica M6 on Kodak Portra 400 35mm film developed and scanned by me. This is perhaps one of the shoots that pushed me to explore outside my comfort zone and helped in improving my skills as a photographer. When taking this photograph, I wanted to place emphasis on the subject, creating a contrast between them and the background and the use of flash was primarily done to create an atmosphere where the subject would feel like a drifter, a nomad and someone unchained from the burden of existence. I also wanted the photo to feel a little provocative and feel like something that would be in vintage magazine. The use of a 35mm lens greatly helped in achieving this as it really gave the photograph some breathing room.
