- President Anne McCall will be visiting next week’s Scot Council general assembly on Oct. 30. The meeting is open to the public and will occur at 7 p.m. — Scot Council’s usual meeting time. The president will be taking questions from attendees.
- Reviewed funds requests from South Asia Committee and Common Grounds.
- The international student liaisons are working to discuss readmission and internships regarding international students.
- The dining liaison elaborated on a conversation with campus dining director Marjorie Shamp, explaining that they are attempting to address staffing issues by posting more job opportunities for smaller shifts.
- The gender and sexuality diversity liaisons are still looking to find a new location for the Q-Space. The Q-Space’s location is hesitant to be moved as moving — potentially to one of two spaces in Luce (010 or 016) — would not allow them to move into a newer space when a new residential hall is built. They discussed the need for more gender affirming care from Wooster and reviewed feedback from students on what they are looking for. They also discussed all-gender housing, explaining that there is a lack of transparency regarding the Douglass renovations.
- The international diversity liaison is planning to meet with Marjorie Shamp and pose the idea of having one day of completely international food at Lowry.
- The accessibility liaison met with the Disability Advocacy and Support Alliance (DASA) and discussed inaccessibility issues in Wishart, the Academic Resource Center’s (ARC) issues with testing accommodations and the creation of a neurodivergent handbook to assist students in locating resources. Carly Jones is in the process of creating a “sensory space” for students to use.
