WNBA Legend’s Final Showdown

This past Sunday featured a second round WNBA playoff game that pitted two of the league’s most successful stars against each other. As the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm squared off, legends Diana Taurasi of the Mercury and Sue Bird of the Storm stole the spotlight. Taurasi appeared youthful as she added 14 points, 5 assists, and 4 boards to help guide the Mercury past the Storm in an 85-80 overtime thriller that led to the Storm’s exit from the playoffs. This was also likely Bird’s last game, as the 40-year-old will consider ending her storied career during the offseason.

MLB Season Down the Hole Stretch

Anthony Joshua has been in the limelight for the past few years as speculation about a future fight with fellow Brit Tyson Fury tantalized boxing experts and casual fans alike. Usyk’s victory awarded him the WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight titles, meaning Fury will have to go through him to become the undisputed heavyweight champ.

NFL Week 3

The 2021-2022 NFL Season has gotten off to an unexpected start as perennial Super Bowl favorites like the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Seattle Seahawks have each struggled to records of 1-2. Meanwhile, teams who have enjoyed minimal success in recent years such as the Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, and Las Vegas Raiders are all undefeated at this point. The Los Angeles Rams are the only undefeated team that doesn’t come as a shock to anyone. These early records are rarely a safe predictor for future success, but NFL fans will be watching eagerly for surprises as this season unfolds.
