The womenís swimming and diving team bolstered their dual-meet record over the weekend with victories over Oberlin College (108-97) and Case Western Reserve University (160-77). With the wins the Scots improved to 5-0 on the season while winning the annual Veale Classic.

The continued dual-meet dominance of the womenís team was lead by the strong performances of underclassmen.† Kate Hunt í13 led all swimmers with four wins on the weekend including two Veale Classic records on Saturday against Case Western Reserve. Hunt won the 50 and 500 freestyle races against Oberlin on Friday and followed that performance with record breaking victories in the 100 and 200 freestyles against the Spartans.

Melissa Haug í12 contributed a win in each meet for the Scots, with a win in the 100 butterfly against the Yeowomen and a 200 butterfly victory on Saturday. Newcomer Caroline Hansen í13 contributed critical victories to the winning effort over the weekend in the 500 and 1000 freestyle races against Case Western Reserve.

The men finished in second place over the weekend after easily disposing of Oberlin (134-68) on Friday, but falling to the Spartans (126-113) by the narrowest of margins. The Scots were led again by the supreme diving of Luke Knezvic í12, who won both the one and three meter diving events. Ryan Radtke í10 set a Veale Classic record in the 200 Individual Medley on Saturday and won two events on Friday as well.

The swimming and diving teams will host Ursuline College tomorrow in dual-meet action beginning at 1 p.m.
