The skillful color pairings and attention to shape of Amy Cohen í10† caught the eye of one of our photographers this week. Amy gave us a few minutes of her time to answer a few questions.
How would you describe your style?
ìI would describe my style as plaid-centric and/or punk light. My closet is full of plaid dresses and shirts, and I tend to wear them more than I should. I try to make my basics a little edgier with punk-inspired details, like a studded belt or black boots. I think simplicity is underrated; thereís nothing better than a white V-neck, black jeans, and black boots.”
Any fashion faux pas?
ìLeggings that hit at mid-calf ó wearing those makes your legs look shorter and stockier than they really are! I would also love to see more girls wear flats than flip-flops, as flats tie a look together so easily, while dirty flip-flops make anything look sloppy.”
Known for wearing everything from antique hats to scuba suits around campus, cross country runner Zane Shetler í10, goes for comfort in corduroys, black dress shoes and an old-school, detective-esque overcoat with a faux-fur trim. The perfectly matching socks might have been a coincidence, but our photographers didnít care. Shetlerís unkempt coif is also part of his overall ìlook,” which he describes as ìheroin chic.”
Where do you get your clothing?
ìEither from my dadís garage, or a nursing home.”
Do you care about fashion?
ìIn the words of Coach Dennis Rice, you gotta look good to be good.”
